Abstract

Landscape connectivity is considered a key factor regulating species diversity of natural and managed landscapes, yet the influence of connectivity relative to other factors remains poorly resolved. In this issue of Journal of Vegetation Science, Jakobsson and colleagues illustrate how grassland plant species richness is more strongly affected by the age and management of grassland patches than by connectivity.
