Saberes contados, saberes guardados: a polissemia da congada de São Sebastião do Paraíso, Minas Gerais

Abstract

Neste artigo sobre a festa da congada de São Sebastião do Paraíso (MG), descrevo e interpreto os modos como seus dançadores transmitem conhecimentos específicos sobre a festa, codificando e decodificando mensagens que se reportam ao mudo vivível, mas também ao mundo invisível, cuja apreensão e compreensão abarcam códigos, modulação e educação dos sentidos de ordem diversa e específica. Para tanto a autora analisa discursos cosmológicos e as associações estabelecidas entre catolicismo, memória africana e ancestralidade.In this article about the Feast of Congada of São Sebastião do Paraíso, MG, the author describe and interpret this feast and the way the dancers transmitted they specifics knowledge, codify and decodify messages attributed to the look that if report to the visible world, but also to the invisible world, whose apprehension and understanding accumulate of stocks codes, modulation and education of the directions of diverse and specific order. This was done based on their cosmological discourse, the association they establish between Catholicism, African memory and ancestry.
