Abstract

A new tricyclo[4.2.0.02,8]octane-type neolignan, 6-allyl-7-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)- 2,3-dimethoxy-8-methyl-tricyclo|4.2.0.0 2,8|oct-3-en-5-one, together with 15 known lignan and neolignan derivatives have been isolated from the flower buds of Magnolia denudata DESR. and the structures of these compounds have been elucidated based on the 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra and two-dimensional NMR methods such as HMBC, HMQC, and NOESY. © 2005 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
