Abstract
This archive is needed to support the administrative and bureaucratic activities of each agency, which functions as a memory center, decision-making tool and authentic evidence from the agency. This study discusses the management of active archives using the State Electronic Correspondence Application (SULTAN) application at the Bandung Regency Library and Archives Service in 2024. This study uses qualitative research because of several considerations, namely first, this method presents the nature of the relationship between researchers and respondents directly, and using this method researchers can balance the value patterns that want to be studied more deeply. The results of the study show that although this application helps in the efficiency of active archive management, there are still several obstacles that cause active archive management to not be fully implemented in accordance with applicable provisions, such as at the archive creation stage, it is known that there are still often obstacles in making official manuscripts and also inappropriate numbering. At the stage of using the archive, the problems found are in active archive service activities, there are no regulations and SOPs related to borrowing archives for both internal and external parties. At the active archive maintenance stage, it is known that there is no filing feature that is in accordance with archival rules in the SULTAN application. Seeing the existing problems, it can cause the risk of hampering archive management in the SULTAN application. This study provides recommendations to improve the efficiency of active archive management using the SULTAN application at the Bandung Regency Library and Archives Service.
