Abstract

The world is connected with the smart devices which require seamless internet connectivity and high data rate to function. Internet-of things (IoT) has revolutionized the world with vast applications scenarios like driverless cars, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), augmented reality, smart homes and smart learning. Wireless technologies play an important role in the digitalization of the society and the world. The fifth generation (5G) of wireless technology and beyond 5G aim to provide high network coverage, low latency and massive connectivity to realize the notion of smart city, smart healthcare and smart world. This paper presents a framework for the beyond 5G enabled IoT network that aims to offer advantages of huge energy savings and low communication delay. The technology drivers for the beyond 5G communication systems are provided with the IoT centric performance evaluation. In the end, the challenges and future requirements for this integration are also highlighted.
