Abstract

This study purpose to describe: (1) self esteem and self control, (3) the online game addiction of Pertiwi 1 Padang senior high school students, (4) the contribution of self esteem and self control toward online game addiction, and (5) the contribution of both self esteem and self control to online game addiction.The research applied quantitative approach by using correlation technique. The population of this research was the students of Pertiwi 1 Padang senior high school. The data gathered was analyzed by using simple regression and multiple regression.The results of this research that: (1) the students’s self esteem, students’s self control, and students addicted to online game was in midlle category, (2) self esteem contributed significantly and both self esteem and self control contributed significantly to online game addiction about 18,2% and 11%, (3) toward online game addiction about 25, 2%.
