Abstract

Paleogene carbonate sediments, with planktonic foraminifers, of the western Mid-Pacific Mountains (DSDP Site 463) and Hess Rise (Sites 465 and 466) contain numerous hiatuses. Materials of previous DSDP legs (Sites 44, 47, 171, 192, 305, 310, 313) were used to expand knowledge of the Paleogene stratigraphy of the northwest Pacific and to construct a zonal stratigraphy of Paleogene deposits for this region based on planktonic foraminifers. -Author
