Abstract
In all 754 adults (518 males) in a high achieving school-leaver sample com-pleted two intelligence tests (Ravens Progressive Matrices; Graduate Man-agement Assessment Verbal and Numerical) and the 16PF. The study was concerned with the relationships between personality and intelligence. Cor-relational and regression analyses showed a few of the 16PF factors (partic-ularly Reasoning and Sensitivity) to be related to the various cognitive abili-ty test scores. The study shows that specific personality traits are modestly but consistently correlated with intelligence test scores. Implications are considered.
