Abstract

This review article derived from a research project, outlines some theoretical and conceptual approaches of two problem categories: Development and Human Rights. These categories are presented within an interaction setting between current models of development and human rights violation, as well as in the conflicts and confrontations they generate. The first category deals with the conceptualization of the background and trends of development as a sustainable and economic model. The main criticisms and discussions about concept and its evolution are also presented. Likewise, the scope and purpose of development from conflict generation, tensions and struggles are questioned as well as the incidence, modification or violation of human rights. Secondly, human rights, its historical reference and current trends are conceptualized and the current scenario of violations related to development is also discussed. Finally, the interconnections of these categories in the light of the conflicts generated from models of development and human rights violation arising from them are analyzed.
