Abstract

In summary, content and form are often separated in formative evaluation studies. However, they are not dichotomous - but rather interactive and complementary dimensions of eHealth web programs - especially as they influence subjective criteria. Thus, developers must weave design and content together as they create the multidimensional tapestry of eHealth programs whose dominant motif is empowering people to make meaning of and become active participants in dealing with the physical and psychosocial threads of illness. The next phase of the authors' research - evaluating the effects of Caring-Web on caregivers of patients with stroke in an NIH study will be an important contribution to the eHealth research field and for caregivers of stroke patients.
