Abstract
We rewrite spin-spin and spin-other-orbit interactions in terms of the products of tensor operators and apply the method of Racah. Our procedure has some advantages from formal and practical point of view. For example, the conjugation process can be carried out only after the decomposition of spin-other-orbit operator into this form. It was confirmed that the magnetic interaction parameters are proportional to Z3, Z being the atomic number.
