Abstract

We report new ruthenium-catalyzed cis-trans isomerization of various functionalized epoxides. Enantiospecific isomerization of chiral epoxides is achieved without loss of enantiopurity, and epimerization occurs only at the epoxide carbon of the activating group. © 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd.
