Abstract

Reversible color development induced by near UV light (photochromism) was observed for some crystalline powder of l,l'-diaryl-4,4'-bipyridinium bisp-toluenesulfonate). Redox mechanism by the electron transfer from the sulfonate anion to viologen dication is claimed.
