Abstract
This research is motivated by online learning so that social interaction among students is limited. The problem of this research is how the role of teachers, inhibiting and supporting factors, and efforts in establishing social interaction with students. The purpose of this study is to describe the teacher's role, inhibiting and supporting factors, and efforts to establish social interaction among students in an inclusive class. This research method is descriptive and qualitative. This research was conducted at Pakel State Elementary School, Yogyakarta. The research subjects were principals, fifth-grade teachers, special assistant teachers, and fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The teacher as a demonstrator plays a role in assimilation, a class manager plays a role in individual interaction with individuals, a mediator and facilitator play a role in establishing cooperation, and an evaluator plays a role in assimilation. Supporting factors for establishing social interaction are competent class teachers and accompanying teachers, active students, and forums for teachers to consult. Efforts made by teachers to maintain good communication with students, accompanying teachers communicate classically and individually with students.
