Using a capsular flap to correct breast implant malposition

Abstract

Breast implant malposition may be corrected by designing a capsular flap to create a sling. This results in a vascularized, reinforced repair that places the suture line away from the maximum weight of the implants. The authors discuss the advantages of using a capsular flap for an impending extrusion of a breast implant or tissue expander, and present their technique. © 2001 by The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Inc.
