Abstract
Four general types of mistakes are presented that are commonly made in choosing, purchasing, and setting up a laboratory computer. These are: avoiding advice, building your own hardware, buying from a fly-by-night manufacturer, and being ignorant of your machine. © 1981 Psychonomic Society, Inc.
