Abstract

A patient with systemic histiocytosis was treated with hemibody irradiation, vincristine, and prednisone. The patient died of an extensive peripheral neuropathy. An autopsy revealed gross histiocytosis‐X involvement of the unirradiated tissues, and no evidence of disease within the field of irradiation. A treatment protocol employing sequential hemibody irradiation is discussed. Copyright © 1977 American Cancer Society
