Abstract

3D printing (additive manufacturing) is one of the revolutionary technologies that are transforming manufacturing and industrial processes. Additive manufacturing (AM) technology is being used for extensive customization and production of all types of open-source designs in farming, medical, automotive, locomotive, aerospace, and construction industries. Te advantages of 3D printing for industrial applications include little material waste, simple production, minimal human participation, minimal postprocessing, and energy efciency. Tere are limited articles on the scope and future possibilities of AM technologies. Tis article explains numerous AM techniques, uses for technology, and substances used in the manufacturing frm. Te numerous materials that may be used with every type of 3D printing process are explained in depth. Te numerous settings whereby every processor kind is used are also listed in the study. Te original study fndings indicate that, while 3D printing technology has made great advances, there are still challenges that need to be addressed; however, the obstacles appear to vary: the cost of preprocessing and postprocessing, a restricted selection of materials, and technological constraints are the most signifcant 3D printing challenges. Readers will be beneftted from the new dimension added by explanation of the many aspects of additive manufacturing and the identifcation of potential new research felds in this review. Te processes may be enhanced and modifed to operate with a range of materials through further research, whereas if the range of applications for 3D printing technology components is to be increased, more efort should be made into developing economical printing procedures and supplies that function with these printers.
