Abstract
Nine patients experienced hypertension immediately after the intravenous administration of Innovar or droperidol. Eight of these patients were found to have pheochromocytomas and the tumors were excised. It is suggested that Innovar or droperidol not be given to patients with suspected or known pheochromocytomas, and patients having any severe hypertensive response after administration of these drugs should be investigated for possible pheochromocytoma.
