Abstract

Animals may be implicated in the spread of Campylobacter enteritis infection to man1; in particular, dogs suffering from diarrhoea have been cited as a likely cause of infection.12Most canine Campylobacter infections occur in young asymptomatic dogs.3We studied the possible association between Campylobacter enteritis infection in children aged 0–5 and the presence of a young dog in the household. © 1987, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
