Abstract

By the absorption-edge technique (i.e. Cu Kα, λ = 1.542 A., radiation exciting the Co atom, λκ = 1.608 A.) the absolute configurations of 2D-[Co en3]Cl3.NaCl.6H2O and 2L-[Co en3]Cl3.NaCl.6H2O were detd. The crystals have the space group C31-P3 (almost C66-P63) and the lattice consts. a = 11.47, c = 8.06A. (Z = 1). Six N atoms form a slightly distorted octahedron around the central Co atom. The 5-membered Co-ethylenediamine ring is not planar; each ethylenediamine ligand takes the gauche form. [on SciFinder(R)]
