Carbon dioxide warming and coastline flooding: physical factors and climatic impact.

Abstract

Reviews the prediction of climatic change resulting from the CO2 increase and analyses the potential extent of inundation and the associated economic losses. The article concludes with a discussion of policy options. The possible rise in sea level is certainly not the most immediate, and perhaps not even the most important, environmental effect of increased CO2. Any decisions for the long term future must be based on ethics rather than benefit cost analysis. -J.Clayton
