Abstract

This review explores the problem of symptomatic postural hypotension in diabetes, a condition that is fortunately rare but increasingly prevalent in an ageing population. The diverse aetiology and pathophysiology are discussed and relevant investigations and existing therapies are described. New areas of research, which may have therapeutic implications, such as recombinant erythropoietin and octreotide, are also explored. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
