Abstract

Motion compensation and detection from video sequences are widely used in various real time applications such as security and surveillance, etc. In this paper, efficient motion compensation and detection algorithm is proposed which is mainly based upon the Modified Kalman filtering technique to detect and compensate the movement of objects present in the frames. The shadow effect is removed by thresholding operation after Blob detection. To compensate for the camera motion, the basic Kalman filter equation is modified by incorporating two dimensional motion vectors. The comparison result shows that the proposed algorithm can detect andcorrect movement more efficientlythan existing.
