The wire width is 9,050 mm, and the operating speed is max. 1,600 mpm. The plan production capacity of newsprint is 700 tpd. Our goal of this new machine is that the Yastushiro mill can win the competition in the world by restructuring of two old machine-lines and cost-down, and can continuously supply the best quality newsprint especially to the user of Kyushu area, and N 2 PM can be the most efficient machine in the world. This machine has a lot of the newest equipments, using the highest technologies, in Japan or in the world. For example, those are the first CFD former in Japan as newsprint machine former, the shoe presses at first and third press introduced for the first time in the world, the top and single deck dryer configuration at pre-dryer and after-dryer, the jumbo rolls and spools handling system between reel and rewinder, and so on. After start-up, N 2 PM continues to be operated efficiently, improving some problems. This paper mentions about the N 2 PM outlines and operating experience from start-up.
