Abstract

Information about aspect of the vegetative growth of the aerial parts of 22 representative species of subalpine shrubs and trees is presented under the following headings:the annual formation of growth rin,lts, bud scars and other indications of periodicity of growth; appearance of annual growth rings; nature of apical buds; annual cycle of growth in length; persistence of leaves; growth rates; growth form and stature; conclusions. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
