Abstract

We study the electronic density of states of a model amorphous metal, i.e. Dense-Random-Packing-Hard-Spheres spherical system consisting of 1348 hard spheres, by using the recursion method. Averaged local density of states is shown for two different magnitudes of hopping matrix elements. It is found that the peak positions shift towards lower energy side, though half-value width and L-point singularity are preserved compared to infinite FCC crystals. © 1978, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN.
