Abstract
On the 1st of October, 2005 Professor Nikolai M. Emanuel would be ninety. Unfortunately, he was suddenly gone and didn’t reach even seventy (he died on 8th of December, 1984). He was in full vigour, ideas and scientific plans. More than twenty years had passed since then. Now, it’s high time to turn back, to analyze today’s scientific situation and to look ahead on those fields of natural science in which Professor Emanuel worked.
