Abstract

This paper describes research which focusses on the issue of possible roles for computerized agents within multi-media educational software. A French language learning application is outlined using salient cultural agents within a multi-media interface. The interface was transparent to the user acting as a vehicle for the educational experience motivating the application. The educational concepts underlying the application and the issues relating to the design of the interface are discussed.
