Abstract
A method developed for the hand calculation of drift in a staggered-truss building is presented. The accuracy of the method, which was verified through finite-element computer analysis of a building is shown to be good. A design example is presented in detail to illustrate the application of the calculation method. Also, details of calculating resistance to the overturning moment from wind are reviewed.
