Abstract

Ferene iron reagent, 3-(2-pyridyl)-5,6-bis(2-(5-furyl sulfonic acid)-1,2,4-triazine, disodium salt, monohydrate, has been synthesized and characterized. Results of a study of its complex formation with iron(II) including λ max , ε max , and log K values are reported.
