Abstract

We reported an InGaN laser diode pumped high-power continue-wave infrared laser based on a Pr3+:LiYF4 (Pr:YLF). As pumped power was about 11.5 W at 444 nm, the maximum output powers reached 2.4 W at 915 nm and 2.2 W at 907 nm, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first time to scale the output powers of Pr:YLF laser to watt level in the 910 nm spectral range, and the laser output powers and slope efficiencies were also the highest so far. The quadratic dependencies of output laser powers versus the absorbed pump power for both wavelengths were successfully interpreted owing to the negative thermal lensing in Pr:YLF.
