Abstract

In this paper, using fuzzy logic technique an intelligent traffic signal control is introduced. The existing traffic light controllers would not give a best solution to this problem as it changes traffic lights based on constant cycle time. Fuzzy logic controllers can be used to deal with linguistic and unpredictable traffic data to control the signal timings. This paper aims at developing an intelligent traffic light controller using fuzzy logic technique and illustrated a control procedure using if - then rules.
