Abstract

Diisopropylcyclopropenone was prepared by a dehydrobromination of 3,5-dibromo-2,6-dimethylheptan-4-one and isolated in 18% yield via an aqueous extraction procedure. It was characterised by an X-ray crystal structure analysis of its complex with dichlorodimethyltin(IV): Dichlorodimethyl(diisopropylcyclopropenone)tin(IV) was found to have a chloro-bridged dimeric structure in the solid state. ©ARKAT.
