Abstract

Este trabalho estuda as fronteiras políticas na África Negra nas suas dimensões históricas e atuais. Discutindo e criticando as suposições estereotipadas no discurso popular e acadêmico sobre as fronteiras na África, visa explicar porque elas exibiram, apesar de todas as suas imperfeições e defeitos, tanta resistência a mudanças.This article studies the political borders in Black Africa in their historical and modern dimensions. Discussing and criticising the stereotipical suppositions in public and academic discourse, this study intends to explain why, in spite of all their supposed imperfections, modern African borders display such a great deal of resistence to change.
