Abstract
Education in schools provides opportunities for children with special needs to develop their potential optimally. The ability of teachers has an important role to achieve learning objectives, especially for children with special needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of PJOK SDLB teachers in implementing the adaptive physical education learning model for students with special needs. This research was conducted in Pante Raya, Bener Meriah Regency. The population and sample in this study were school leaders, administrative staff, permanent teachers and honorary staff, and 26 students of SDLB Pante Raya, the sampling technique in this study used a total sample. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis used is data reduction, data verification, and drawing conclusion. The collected data were processed using descriptive analysis of percentages. The results of the study concluded that PJOK teachers at SDLB Pante Raya were able to carry out adaptive physical education learning in a creative and fun way to improve the physical fitness of SDLB Pante Raya students and play an active role in every PJOK learning activity carried out in schools. Thus, it is answered that in general, PJOK teachers understand that adaptive physical education has been implemented Keywords: teacher's ability, adaptive physical education, children with special needs.
