Abstract
Our study aims at raising awareness among healthcare facility professionals of the economic dimensions of quality, at providing information on the cost of quality and non-quality and at offering operational worksheets for measuring the cost of non-quality and quality. Based on an in-depth study of the literature, we identified the most common quality failures and made an inventory of the available data. To overcome the lack of information on the cost of non-quality, operational worksheets have been devised that target four main application fields that healthcare facilities are encouraged to use as part of quality policies focused on procedures that have the best medical and economic impact. ©Cairn 2007 Vieprivée.
