Unlike the notion of information, communication did not give place to a theoretical corpus in economics. Strictly speaking, there is no communication economics as there is for information. Since until recent date, social interactions were not part of economic analysis. Nevertheless, communication was taken into account by two types of problems: the internal efficiency of communication within organizations, the network effects in communication industries. However, economics of communication is emerging through the increasing weight of social interactions in wealth production as Internet shows it.
