Abstract
Dissolution experiments have shown that there are three forward rate dependencies far from equilibrium: 1) first order dependence on the bulk fluid activity of H+, 2) linear dependence on the bulk fluid PCO2, and 3) a constant forward rate in the near absence of H+ and dissolved CO2. Forward rate dependence on H+ is, in part, a function of stirring rate.
