Enciclopedismo, tecnología y educación: El nuevo estadio de la cultura según Gilbert Simondon

Abstract

The aim of this article is to expose the principal notions of the philosophy of Gilbert Simondon's technology in relation with his contribution to the educational field, understanding that the relation between education and technology became the most important pedagogical challenge of this time. In the first part, this work introduces some elements of Simondon's thought, with a special emphasis on the historical reconstruction of what he called the encyclopaedism: ethical, technical, and technological, according to the sequence proposed by the French philosopher. The second part exposes the ambitious educational reform program proposed in 1953 by Simondon to break the distinction between technical education and humanistic education. Finally, the article examines the place of technology today and the conditions for the institution of a new type of encyclopaedism framed in the educational reforms produced in the last two decades.
