Addition of 3(5)-methylpyrazole to p-benzoquinone

Abstract

Four derivatives have been isolated and identified in the reaction between 3(5)-methylpyrazole and p-benzoquinone. 1H and 13C NMR, including 13C CPMAS NMR have been used to characterize these 1-pyrazolyl derivatives of 1.4-dihydroxybenzene. A discussion of their structure and meso/d,l isomerism is provided.
