Abstract

This paper gives an overview of the research on vector borne diseases, especially malaria, at the International Water Management Institute. It provides a review of published research that focuses on key questions concerning how malaria is linked to agriculture. What the economic costs of the disease are and what solutions the agriculture sector can offer. Environmental management measures are site specific but have great potential in complementing the established biomedical approach to controlling malaria and other vector borne diseases.
