Abstract

The aim of this study was to verify if the offer of subjects related to Public Health is present, or not, in Physical Education courses at Public Universities in Rio de Janeiro, as well as to analyzethe approach to “health” in these courses. To do so, it was used qualitative research, with acritical-documentary analysis of the courses syllabus. It was observed the predominance ofbiological subjects related to health. Regarding collective and public health issues, the fewsubjects offered do not go into them in depth, especially when it comes to Unified HealthSystem of Brazil, Health Education and intervention in multidisciplinary teams
