Abstract

Resumo: Este buscou demonstrar como a inteligência emocional é importante para os líderes das gerações Y e Z. Utilizou-se a metodologia qualitativa, sendo o procedimento de pesquisa bibliográfica baseado em estudos já realizados sobre o tema. A pesquisa apontou que a geração Y é confortável para com uso de tecnologias, motivada, aberta a desafios, contudo, demonstrou-se disposta a constantes trocas de emprego; a geração Z é mais aliada ao diálogo aberto, tolerante, mas possui problemas como foco. Concluiu-se que o líder precisa levar em conta as necessidades e habilidades de cada grupo, a fim de que consiga usar sua inteligência emocional da melhor forma possível, considerando que a geração Y e a geração Z possuem diferenças fundamentais entre si, onde o papel da liderança é necessário para conseguir o engajamento destes. Conhecendo as motivações, é possível entender como liderá-los.Palavras-Chave: Gerações Y e Z. Liderança. Inteligência Emocional.Abstract: It sought to demonstrate how emotional intelligence is important for leaders of generations Y and Z. A qualitative methodology was used, and the bibliographic research procedure was based on studies already carried out on the subject. The survey pointed out that generation Y is comfortable with the use of technologies, motivated, open to challenges, however, they were willing to constantly change jobs; Generation Z is more allied with open, tolerant dialogue, but has problems as a focus. It was concluded that the leader needs to consider the needs and abilities of each group, in order to be able to use their emotional intelligence in the best possible way, considering that generation Y and generation Z have fundamental differences between them, where the role of leadership is necessary to get their engagement.
