Abstract
In the context of the deep transformations that are going through the agricultural sector of the Argentine Pampas region at present, it is analyzed how they have been redefined and what are the central characteristics of the social relations between the actors involved in the production. The main objective of this article is to show how the different types of relationships are a key element for the characterization of current agrarian social actors. For this, we worked with a sample of 38 farms of different sizes and profiles in three parties in the province of Buenos Aires (belonging to the Pampas region). The types of social relations structures in the sphere of production, and the types of logic with which they manage production were reconstructed based on semi-structured interviews with agricultural producers and other actors involved. This analysis identified a trend towards the commodification of social relations in agriculture, but it is limited in its full expansion by the persistence of a logic that combines, an anchor in the scientific and market parameters, with a valuation of the trajectories and local and historical knowledge of each productive space.
