Abstract

In the title compound (alternative name: N′-(4-nitrobenzylidene)-N,N- bis[2-(4-nitrobenzylideneamino)ethyl]-1,2-ethane-diamine), C27H 27N7O6, the three independent NCH 2CH2N=CHC6H4NO2 fragments all exhibit different conformations, resulting from the different direction-specific intra- and intermolecular interactions experienced. The molecules are linked by a single C - H⋯O hydrogen bond into centrosymmetric R22(26) dimers, which are linked by π-π stacking interactions into [111] chains and, more weakly, into (011̄) sheets. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography.
