Abstract
Early childhood, also known as the golden age period, is an important phase in which children's growth and development takes place very quickly. Stimulation and education through play activities greatly influence children, both with regard to their physical and mental development. For children aged 5-6 years, play is an essential need as it has a huge impact on their cognitive and motor development. However, giving too many toys can potentially interfere with the development of creativity, make children feel bored quickly, and reduce concentration. Children aged 5-6 years generally have a more concrete mindset, tend to be realistic, and have a high imagination. For this reason, the author designed a constructive toy product for children aged 5-6 years that aims to further stimulate their creativity through a variety of challenging and interesting games. This design uses design thinking as its approach method, which includes five phases, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The result of this design is an innovative constructive toy product with a flexible connection system inspired by the motion system in human joints. The discovery of the connection system makes the toy not only assembleable, but also movable, allowing children to further develop their imagination to the fullest.
