TRANSFORMATIONAL CHALLENGES OF RUSSIAN INFORMATION AGGRESSION IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE WAR WITH UKRAINE

Abstract

The beginning of the Russian aggression in 2014 was one of the prerequisites for rapid changes in national security and an increase in the role of the information component to achieve an advantage over the enemy. Using the experience of the leading countries of the world and its own unique experience, the information security of Ukraine has undergone significant changes due to the transformation of information aggression on the part of the Russian Federation. Since the information strategy of Ukraine is important in the context of state security, the article was devoted to the transformation of Russia’s information aggression, the challenges that now face the Ukrainian state and possible ways of further development of information security. One of the ways to test this hypothesis is to study the pro-Russian theses that are currently spreading on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the channels of their promotion. This article uses methods of monitoring information messages and subsequent content analysis, which showed us a number of problematic sectors in the field of information security, weak coordination of countering internal and external information threats, limited response capabilities to disinformation campaigns and an insufficient level of information culture and media literacy of the population. In accordance with this, today the issue of the transformed challenges of Russian information aggression in the context of the war with Ukraine requires more elaboration, the formation of comprehensive measures to counter disinformation and the normalization of political and legal acts to strengthen information security. The normalization of media relations, the level of information culture and media literacy of the population, as well as the information and psychological impact of the transformed information aggression from Russia on the population remain a problematic issue.
