Abstract

Investigating development of the personal meaning organizations (PMO), two questions are relevant: which are invariable factors of care-giver responsible of the specific organizational closure typical of each PMO and which is the adaptive value that brought to appearance and maintenance of PMO, in the course of evolution of humans and during personal development of each individual. Three main aspects were stressed: 1) regulation of distance (archaic and based on concrete thought abilities axis concerning protection/separation) that allows FOB-Prone PMO, based on control of protection/ freedom conditions, and DEP-Prone PMO, based on management of separation and self determination, 2) attention to environment (axis low-high syntony) that requires abstract abilities and that is at the origin both of inward DEP-Prone and FOB-Prone PMO and of outward DAP-Prone and OBS-Prone PMO, and 3) communication coherence (axis indefinite ambiguous-definite ambivalent communications) that requires abstract thought and that allows understanding of ambiguous environmental aspects in DAP-Prone PMO and of antithetical environmental aspects in OBS-Prone PMO development.
