Abstract

This paper discusses some of the interesting mechanics aspects peculiar to structures made of fiber-reinforced composite materials. Specific topics include micromechanics, macroscopic anisotropy, lamination, bimodularity, and experimental mechanics. The paper concludes by mentioning some important unsolved problems.
